ADOPTION DETAILS

Adoption is the term we use when you decide to make a BML Doodle a part of your family.

When you make the choice to adopt from Badger Mountain Labradoodles, you will receive the following:

INCLUDED

A signed contract that will include our 2 year health guarantee, adoption conditions as well as any other necessary details spelled out specifically for your puppy.  This contract is binding and designed to protect the seller, the buyer and most importantly - the puppy.

INCLUDED

A spay/neuter agreement will be included in the health warranty and contract. This must be completed by 6 months of age with copies of spay/neuter certificate sent to BML for confirmation. If a puppy is being adopted for breeding purposes this would not apply and will have been discussed with BML previous to adoption.

INCLUDED

Your puppy's individual Vaccine Record that includes the 1st round of vaccinations as well as current de-worming will be given to you as well as the record of the 1st Exam. The health record should be taken to each following veterinary visit to be updated with current information.

INCLUDED

Your puppy will be microchipped at 7 weeks of age. You will be given their Microchip tag with number and instruction on how to register.

All of this, plus a Blanket that smells like his litter mates and a new toy, will be inside of a paw print reusable bag.

INCLUDED

You become a part of the BML family when you adopt one of our precious puppies. And like a family, we provide support for life, 24/7.

BML reserves the right to retain for it’s own breeding stock replenishment, puppies from any and all litters it sees fit.

Please be open to either a male or female Doodle. Due to the special care used when selecting breeding pairs, males and females exude virtually the same temperaments. As part of our contract puppies must be spayed/neutered by 6 months of age and as a result often do not develop many gender specific traits. Being open to either sex may shorten the length of your wait for a Doodle pup.

It is important to note that all of our breeding stock undergo hip testing (OFA) ,eye testing (CERF) and Embark DNA testing. This is to ensure us as well as the buyer (to the best of our ability) that our Doodle pups are free of potential hereditary defects. While these tests do not give us an absolute guarantee that our pups will not have any hereditary problems, they are still the best way to determine that our breeding stock is clear of specific defects. With this testing in place, we can be sure we are passing the best possible genetic combinations along to your puppy.

We require that you take your puppy to your veterinarian for a well-puppy visit within 72 hours of receiving him/her. Our pups come with
a general 7-day health guarantee and a 24-month genetic health guarantee. All veterinary expenses are the responsibility of the buyer.

We ask that (as much as you may want to) you do not take your puppy out and about in public until he/she has completed the series of puppy shots (usually 14 to 16 weeks of age). Young pups are at risk to the parvovirus as well as many other contagious illnesses. The parvovirus can stay dormant in the ground for up to 7 years! All it takes is a curious little puppy to dig around in contaminated dirt, dog feces and/or dog vomit to contract the potentially and commonly fatal virus. We recommend that you carry your puppy into the veterinarian’s office and hold him/her for the duration of your visits. The veterinarian offices are a common place for the parvovirus to enter due to the high volume of animals walking around inside. Once your puppy has had its full series of shots it is perfectly safe to take that puppy out and show him/her off!!

We will make the greatest attempt in matching you to the pup that best suits your needs. Be very specific when filling out the Online Adoption Application. It is an aid to us in determining which puppy will be the best addition to your family.

If at any time you feel as though you can no longer care for your Doodle, we ask that you CONTACT BML so that we can aid you in placing him/her in a home we feel comfortable with. We never want any of our Doodles to end up in an animal shelter. We ask that you make this commitment to us. We are always interested in feedback regarding pups that leave us. Feel free to email updates and pictures to us. We take pride in our pups and love to see them as they grow into BIGGER Doodles!
